In honour of Islamic Heritage Month, Inclusive School and Community Services (ISCS) invites students, families and staff to an evening celebrating the rich diversity of Islamic heritage and cultures.
Join us for an opportunity to connect, learn and celebrate the diverse identities, histories, traditions and contributions of Muslim communities from around the world.
Through food, performances, cultural displays and interactive activities, participants will experience and learn about the many cultures, traditions and histories that contribute to the rich tapestry of Islamic heritage.
Four events will be held across York Region. Students, families and staff are encouraged to attend the event that is most convenient for them.
Event #1 – North Area

Registration is required and is limited by venue capacity. Spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration will close once capacity has been reached.
To assist with event planning, please indicate which event you will attend and the total number of people attending with you, including yourself.
The Pathways Team in Curriculum & Instructional Services invites students and their families to attend the Accelerated OYAP and Apprenticeship Virtual Information Night. This event is for:
- Grade 12 students who are planning on entering the Skilled Trades
- Grade 10 or 11 students who would like more information on this program to better prepare for this pathway
- Parents/guardians of students in Grades 9-12 who are considering a career in the skilled trades
This virtual event takes place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. A link to this online session will be sent out via email a few days before the event.

The Pathways Team in Curriculum & Instructional Services in collaboration with the York Catholic District School Board invites students in Grades 9-11, families and educators to attend a Skilled Trades and Technology Career Planning Information Night. The goal of this event is to inspire students to take their first step towards a career in industries that are constantly innovating, on the cutting edge of emerging technologies, and making a critical difference in people’s lives. Students will have the opportunity to learn about some of Ontario’s 120+ trades through presentations and information booths. They will hear directly from the YRDSB Pathways team, tradespeople and local employers about life-changing career opportunities.
This event is taking place on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Richmond Green Secondary School (1 William F. Bell Parkway, Richmond Hill, ON L4S 2T9).
Registration Process:
Students, families and YRDSB educators are invited to register through the Skilled Trades and Technology Open House Registration form.


York Region Police: Experience the Career

Students in Grades 10, 11 and 12 have the chance to Experience the Career at a unique expo showcasing emergency services from across York Region.
Attendees will be treated to live demonstrations, hands-on activities and interactive presentations. They will also have the opportunity to connect with first responders, recruitment teams and post-secondary program co-ordinators.
Parents are welcome to attend.
Session 1: 9 a.m.
Session 2: 12 p.m.
Please register for only one session. No walk-ins will be permitted.
