LAMPS: Learning About Mental Health Presentation Series
Parent/Caregiver Presentations
YRDSB is proud to celebrate Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week from May 4th to May 8th, 2026.
To complement the incredible work already happening in our classrooms, the Central Mental Health Team has curated a comprehensive Family Toolkit. Within the toolkit, you can find helpful tips on how to support mental health as well as Live & Recorded Presentations: Facilitated by the Central Mental Health Team, York Region Public Health and external presenters. Included are also carefully selected tools to support student well-being.
We aim to foster emotional connection and enhance identity-affirming spaces where every student feels a deep sense of mattering and belonging.
We invite you to explore the Family Toolkit to choose resources that best fit your family’s journey. Together, let’s continue building a community where every student knows they belong.
As a part of the implementation of the Strategy, we are providing schools and parents/caregivers with the opportunity to participate in a Mental Health Presentation Series. The presentations will be provided by members of the Central Student Mental Health Implementation Team. Presentations will be available for students/classrooms in grades 1 to 12, as well as parents and caregivers.
The overall intent is to support and build emotional connection and well-being and create/enhance identity-affirming spaces within the learning environment where students know they matter and belong. The YRDSB Central Mental Health Team will be hosting a virtual mental health and wellness presentation for families and caregivers on Wednesday May 6, 2026 (6:30 pm to 7:30 pm). Based on information shared with us from the YRDSB Welcome center, and the 6 language capacity of Microsoft Teams we will be providing language translation in Farsi-Persian, Mandarin (simple Chinese written), Cantonese (traditional Chinese written), Turkish, Ukrainian, Korean.
Participation: All Parents and Caregivers are welcome. Translation can be provided during the presentation through the online virtual platform tool.
Registration: Registration information will also be shared through our Parent/Caregiver Mental Health Newsletter, through the WWW Events Page, social media, as well as through your school’s Mental Health Liaison.
